  • Interior Quik Detailer before dressing?

    Hi all,

I like the simplicity of interior care wipes. So- would using IQD wipes remove previous dressings or degrease/clean/prep/etc. surfaces well enough to apply Ult. Protectant or a similar interior dressing properly?

Or should I go with something different?

    Thanks!

QIDW clean and leave anon greasy matte finish. The issues I see is a dressing not bonding properly with the plastic/vinyl bc of the QIDW. I like APC+ dilute 10:1 or less to clean and then apply a dressing. Do a test spot and see how it turns out.

      Thanks for the response!

My concern exactly. I just love the convenience of wipes. Ever try Armor All Cleaning wipes?

Using QID first would be fine, esp if there was extra dust/dirt that needed removing.

Havent used the Armor All... Has Armor All in the name....

QID has some decent cleaning ability so it can be a great prep step before applying something like Natural Shine, and applying QID first will not compromise the application of NS or other dressings.

Well, picked up some QID wipes, and removed my old dressing. On went UP perfectly, and it looks great.

            Thanks, all!

Armor all is said to have a certain oil in the wipes that over time may damage your interior. That's what I heard once, never touched the stuff again.

Totally and completely false. It's one of those Internet myths that refuses to die.

I used QID to clean the interior vinyl of my 2003 Jeep. I then applied UP over it. I did this in October. It still looks great today. I just use a clean MF towel to wipe down once a week and that it is it. I really like both products.

Megs #39 will strip down to bare vinyl if you want to remove everything.

Re: Interior Quik Detailer before dressing?

I do this often. QID to prep/clean lightly soiled surfaces and follow with a protectant with no problem. I have used QID as a second step on heavy soiled interior. Start with #39 to do the heavy duty cleaning then QID and finish protectant.

#39 is certainly strongest.... though if we are just talking wipe-downs, I would say APC is your best choice.

Tried this approach the other day. Up until now ive been using a mothers cleaner and protectant combo, with QID for regular maintenance, but now the bottles are empty I picked up some Natural Shine and prepped the cars with QID.. Really liked the result.. More natural look than what I was using
