whatever product you like,try using a microfiber wash mitt to apply it. put the product on the mitt and work it in.this alows you to avoid the clogging of holes as well as get the product into deep bolsters such as porsche have. i have been doing this for years. after you are done just put the mitt in a zip lock bag so you do not mix it up.

I tend to use the Target Vroom MF towels for the interior.

As far as the product... really cant go wrong, though I think the liquid/gel/cream products get a bit more on the surface to work in, moisturize, etc than the spray. But the sprays are nice to use quickly...

After reading this posting I came to the conclusion that the original question was never really answered!! I'm contemplating buying either D180 or Gold Class Leather C/C Spray(the wipes dry up faster than i can use them) and what is the best way to apply. . . . .how would "the pro's" apply it? I was thinking of using a Soft Buff Terry Towel(16x25 is a rather large towel for wiping seats and stuff down. . . .unless Meguiar's makes a smaller on) or a Foam Applicator Pad. . . . . .????

Don't know about the F150 but sit in any Jaguar to smell nice leather.

I find that my car smells like wood and leather. The best way to keep it that way is to detail the wood with whatever and then go over it with Old English. I like Leatherique for the leather, and Lexol when I feel the leather needs a good faster clean. Leatherique sprays on like the Lexol, but I'll work in Leatherique by hand (it's got collagen in it, so it must be good for my hands), Lexol just gets wiped off.

I have always rubbed in the lotion by hand and then wipe it with a microfiber towel.

I have used the Rich Leather Aloe products. I then switched to Lexol's brand. I then switched to Leather CPR and now I'm back to RLA cleaner and conditioner products. I still like LeatherCPU but I like the cleaning ability of RLA and that the conditioner is a separate product. Neither of them have a scent that I can smell. The conditioner is good in that it does not leave a white film like some other products.

I apply by hand and rub into the seat.

I usually use Gold Class spray or Lexol, depending on the aplication, but I think I am going to give these a try.

i own a merc with vented leather seats and use a foam cleaner/conditioner supplied by my dealer, which i belive is made by Sonax, some german brand. I spray the foam directly on the non vented area first, then evently spread the foam across the whole section (vented or not) , wait a few minutes and wipe it clean using a dry, thick cotton towel.

IMO, i prefer leather conditioner/cleaner NOT to smell like anything un-natural (eg. air spray, or some weird parfum).i like the smell of new, good quality leather, and that Sonax foam suits me well. Btw, My wife once brought some unbranded 'leather restoration oil', which smells like someone's divied ashtray..

talking about smells, anyone seen the new Maserati quattroporte GTS? A friend of mine got one, the thing smells like im sitting in some really expensive handbag . the italians sure understands the art of combining scents to make things smell expensive .lol

the only leather items i have in my truck is my steering wheel and shift knob. i bought some gold class leather wipes since my areas were so small. but it seems like most people dislike the wipes the most. some say it doesn't "penetrate" the leather enough. being that i only have a steering wheel and shift knob, should i stick with the wipes? or would another method be more effective?

Thanks Mike, I'll pick up a bottle of step 2 this weekend and try it out. The one thing that gets me the most is 99% of leather conditioners on the market do not contour to all 3 of the applicable senses. Looks, feel but not smell. Every leather conditioner I have ever bought has had some citris/neat's foot/other misc pleasant smell incorporated into it. Chemical Guys makes a leather spray scent, but if I wanted a floor mat or carpet to smell like leather, I'd upholster my truck with my softball glove. I want my leather to smell like leather. If a company could incorporate all 3 of these qualities in a 2nd step conditioner, #1 they'd have my business by the gallon #2 I wouldn't be the only one buying it, I guessing.

Ford makes a F-150 edition called King Ranch. That is what leather should smell like. Anybody ever sat in one of these vehicles to back me up?

I always spray it on a foam pad. Those perforated seats are a nightmare to clean.
