i use natural shine, it's an excellent interior lotion, it leaves finish looking very rich and conditioned, provides protection too. i love it.,just take a foam pad and apply too pad or microfibre if too dirty, wipe after a few mins with microfibre or terry towel.

UP will have some mild cleaners... using QID or APC before wont hurt, but I am sure you wont have much to remove, unless you have a dirtier environment.

I like to apply a dressing, using a MF cloth, then wait 5-10 minutes, and wipe with a clean cloth to remove any excess.

Jumping in on the thread... is QID safe to use on previously applied protectants from other car care products?

Currently, I am using TW Total Interior once a month, and Meguiar's Quik Interior weekly. However, when the new Detailer's Line Quik Interior Detailer comes out, I will buy it.

QID is very mild, as in if you have a dressing on there, it wont act to remove a lot of it as APC would.

However, QID is low gloss, so if you have a high shine product, it could knock down the shine.

is the ultimate protectant safe on leather? if just a little accidentally touches or gets on leather? the reason i ask is because my steering wheel is made of some kind of plastic or vinyl in the center (the air bag part), but the outer part is wrapped in leather. i wanted to know how careful i should be when applying the ultimate protectant to the center part.

Re: Best Products For Interior "Maintenance"

i just put a coat of ultimate protectant on all 4 doors of my truck. i thought i would wait to do the dash until i got a "feel" for the product. i dont know if i like it or not. not the product itself, but the way it is applied. maybe its because i've never used a liquid for my interior before. my whole life it's either been wipes or spray. but i found that for me, the liquid left too much behind. i applied it to a foam applicator pad and then applied it to my door panels. but it seemed like i had to stay away from any separations in panel. because if i went over any cracks, it filled with liquid, and took forever to get out. i'm a little nervous now to do the dash, because of how cut up it is with vents and buttons etc. anyone else have this problem?

i did find that when i made my final swipe with a microfiber towel, my yellow towel quickly turned black. i didn't realize my door panels were so dirty. my armor wipes never turned that black.

No, you would not want UP on leather.

Re: Best Products For Interior "Maintenance"

It is a bit of a tradeoff between wipes, liquid, etc.

Going to get the best protection, cleaning, etc from a liquid, that cna be worked in, leave a lot of stuff behind.

The sprays and wipes wont leave quite as much behind, but can be easier, etc.

You might like to get APC eventually for deeper cleaning, if the UP is going ot be a hassle. Of course you may still like UP better on exterior. Another idea would be to get the towel/applicator more wet with the product, may wipe around easier.

i may have misspoke. i didn't have a problem with liquid leaving too much behind. wiping the excess of with a microfiber cloth wasn't a problem. my problem is that the liquid seems to get in any cracks or separations i have on the interior. and its very hard to get out.

i do like the idea of the liquid instead of wipes or spray, because i feel like its penetrating more and protecting better.

                            Using less product may help.

can i use the ultimate protectant on my black plastic mudflaps? they are looking a little dull. i assume it would be the same as applying it to exterior molding.
