  • Steam Cleaner

Hello everyone, I am looking at purchasing the Shark Portable steam cleaner, I have heard it works great to clean the car after a good vacuum, just wondering if any one else has had success with it?

    Thanks,
    Jake

Jake, here is a thread that may help a little.

One of the guys posted that he bought the Shark.

Here is another with another member that bough the Shark.

Perhaps you could PM these guys for info.

    Good luck
p.s. a few people seem to like the Bissell Little Green

You're welcome. What part of Van. do live in? My brother lives in Port Coquitlam. I usually visit once per year.

I just bought a Wagner On Demand 905 Power Steamer for a slightly unusual reason. My 2nd car is my now rarely used 1993 Honda Civic that I am now preparing to sell. Last Friday I took it to the shop to have it's oil leak fixed and my mechanic reported that the oil pan needed to be replaced because the drain plug was stripped. He also noted that the underside of my Civic had become home to all sorts of creepy crawling critters - namely black widows! He recommended having the underside of the car steam cleaned.

I had already decided to fix the oil drain plug problem myself with an oversized re-threaded drain plug, but there was no way I was crawling under my car without the recommended steam cleaning. I was at a local reseller store 2 days ago and noticed they were selling Wagner On Demand 905 Power Steamers for an insanely low price of $33. I was going to rent a steam cleaner from Home Depot for $26, so this looked like a better deal.

I was hesitant at first because the Wagner kinda looks like a toy, and it's water reservoir only holds 48 ounces. But I liked the fact that it had 2 extension wands and a jet nozzle with a trigger release. I used it yesterday to blast the underside of the Civic and I was impressed with it's power and the steam heat it produced. The Wagner also comes with a wallpaper scraper, squeegee wand, and a carpet brush attachment. I can definitely see other applications for it in detailing and around the home, so the Wagner looks like a keeper!

The Canadian Tire one looks similar to the Bissel Little Green. I'm not sure of the differences.

Costco is carrying the Bissell Little Green for $80. If you have a Costco card I'd likely consider buying it there being their return policy is so good. Plus it's $10 less.
