  • Bissell cleaners

    Hey,
I`ve been looking into getting a cleaner for textiles, and I came across Bissell cleaners. -especially this one: http://www.bissell.com/ProductDetail.aspx?id=2866

How well do these work? Am I able to properly clean upholstery and textile seats with this?

    Other suggestions?
I`ve been looking in to the Kärcher Puzzi 8, but it starts at about $1000.
Will the Bissell do the job?

    Thanks!

Looks like the "Little Green Machine" sold here in the States. They work well. The only issue I have is this. They lack sufficient extraction power. I am always using my shop vac to extract the solution.

The other concern I would have is this. I am not sure how they will hold up to regular daily use. Not sure if they are built for that much use.

      Thanks, J.A
I was thinking the same, they don`t look too sturdy..

Main thing I`m thinking about is the cleaning ability. How much more can I expect as opposed to brushing with APC and vacuuming with wet/dry vakuum?
Is the "rinse and vacuum" style cleaner that much better, really? Never used one.

Another thing; I see this thing has got a water heater. -Does your machine have this? If so, is this a big advantage?

Well, really my main concern is the wimpy looking construction. The price is right. Also, The electrical main current here is 230v, so I have to use this through my converter -does`nt seem to be a problem consumptionwise though.

I have a Little Green Machine with the Heater in it. I find it satisfactory for a person looking to maintain their own rides and do a job for pay every once in a while. It does not do any better than APC+ worked in with the correct carpet or upholstery attachment on your DA and then extract with a wet dry vac. If you are doing much more work than that you need a heavier duty machine.

The heater option is nice. Mine does not get super hot. But it is sufficient to do the job.

I find the cleaning capabilities good. It is the extraction that is lacking imho.

I think that this "deep" cleans. Not sure of the apc and stiff brush. Been a while since I have done it that way.

Thanks guys. I might give the Bissell a try in a while.
I went out and bought a new Kärcher wet vacuumer, with a bit mor suction power than my previous one, will be trying out that one tomorrow.

agp; I saw a tread a few years back of a guy detailing interior with DA. What kind of tools do you use for the job?

There is a couple of brush attachments. One long nap, the other a short nap. They Velcro onto the G100. Then you have a d/a carpet scrubber. They work pretty well.

Mr JA Michaels is correct. I got both a long bristle and a short bristle attactment for my DA from ADS. I find this method better at reactivating carpet that the nap has flattened out on. This method does not work every time, however. They will get deeper down into the carpet than the attachments that come with the LGS.

The little green machine works great. I use it on our vehicles. I would like to get the pro heat. It would be nice to have that extra cleaning power.

                    Re: Bissell cleaners

I've got the LGM with the heat option. I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I just did a car with black carpeted floor mats yesterday, and it cleaned them about 80-90 percent. The spots that were left I used Folex on. I fill it with APC+ and hot water, and with the heat on I can see steam coming off of whatever I'm cleaning. I've only done a few cars with it, so I can't speak as to its durability yet.

The LGM is great for the car and home. I've read on here that the best use for the LGM is to use it as a final rinse after using a carpet cleaner. Hopefully going to try it for myself once it stops raining here in Saskatchewan.
Seeing their heads turn as you drive by is payment enough.

I use the ProHeat 2X model with the TurboBrush. Works great for the house and car. I got mine at Sam's and use the Fiber Cleansing Formula. Smells good too especially if you are a Meg's sniffer.

                          What's your dilution ratio?

I have used APC+ in mine at ratio of 1 part APC+ to 5 parts hot water. The heater in the Little Green Machine keeps it warm and that has greater cleaning power.
