  • leather care questions

    Just a few questions here.

Have a friend who used Leatherique, and said it works awesome.

Anyone else use it and if so how does it compare to MEGS leather cleaner and conditioner. the blue and white stuff. that's what i have. got it as a gift.

    2. How do you all clean the leather and get as much of the dirt off as possible? I read leatherique process, so I assume using MEGS you don't leave it in the sun.

    3. Do many of you use a leather brush to clean the seats etc...

any other tips would be great as well.

    Re: leather care questions

just follow the instruction on the Meg's bottle and you will be fine, use a soft bristle brush when cleaning. I use Leatherrique only if the seats are really bad as it takes some time. Generally I steam clean all leather seats, condition them with Meg's Aloe Conditioner, process worked great for me.

Meg's cleaner and conditioner isn't the same as leatherique in any way. While Meg's is good stuff and I use it on customer's vehicles, Leatherique is that step up. It completely reconditions and cleans leather. It pulls all the **** out of its pores and brings it back to its native condition.

Megs is good stuff, but leatherique is def. a step up. Thats why its so expensive.

Megs stuff is good for maintaining new/good condition leather interiors.

Leatherique is best suited for bringing neglected leather back to new. Though it does have some limitations, and won't completely bring back leather dried out to the point of being cardboard.

Want a quick and easy way to clean leather before conditioning?

While I agree magic erasers can work wonders on car interiors (even leather), it is advised on their packages NOT to use them on surfaces like leather or paint. This is probably due to their abrasive nature.

I've used them before, and whenever I find that stain that I just cant get out, I get my magic erasers out. But on a regular basis, I try to stay away.

Have a steam cleaner coming next week... its not one of those big boys but it should do the trick. Ill post my results!
