Hoping one of the Mike's can answer this. I have leather seats in my car, and being someone from MOL, you can imagine i clean them often. My question is...i use products like D180 leather cleaner/conditioner and the gold class rich leather spray, lotion, wips, etc..etc..etc..all these products tend to leave a nice gloss to the leather..specially d180, it leaves an super high gloss on leather, which i like. and it does a great job of cleaning and conditioning the leather too...however, after sitting in my seat for just a few hours, all the gloss is gone from the drivers seat. i expect this to happen, but my quesiton is, is the leather still protected and conditioned ?

Re: Leather Seat Question
Any gloss you see is essentially from a bit of excess product sitting on the surface. Generally a follow up thorough wipe down with a dry towel will knock down the shine by removing this slight excess of product - and it does not have to be much product at all, evidenced by the fact that it isn't streaking when you run a finger across it, for example. But it is still some excess. By sitting on the seats and moving around ever so slightly when driving you are doing that final wipe, to an ever greater degree, in one place - where you Levi's meet the seat.
Is the leather still treated and protected? Yes. Just that excess product is gone, along with the shine.Michael Stoops
