  • Critique my interior detailing

I just did a partial cleaning on my '07 CX-9. I had about an hour to kill, so I figured I'd see what I could do.

I cleaned the glass using the Meg's glass cleaner, spraying it onto a microfiber first then cleaning the glass, doing a final wipe down with the dry side of the MF. That windshield was a PITA!!

Then I took another MF, sprayed APC+ onto it and wiped down all the plastic areas (dash, door panels, seat plastic, etc). Then I did a quick wipe down with a fresh MF after that was done. I avoided getting APC+ on the navigation screen as well as the plastic instrument housing, is that what I was supposed to do?

Then I took a fresh MF, sprayed QID onto the MF and wiped down everything I cleaned with APC+. Wiped it all down after with a fresh MF.

That's as far as I got.. Next is to do the leather seats/door panels. Can I used APC+ on the leather, then put leather conditioner on it? I have the spray kind.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Yeah, dont use too much. As little cleaner as possible usually makes it easier.

Yeah, I avoid the soft plastic covers as much as possible, and just use QID as needed.

Yeah, its ok. But if you are going to dress after, like with Natural Shine, etc, I wouldnt worry about the QID step.

Yeah, APC is ok for leather. It will be stronger than the cleaner in the Gold Class Cleaner/Conitioner.

So instead of QID I should use something like Natural Shine?

Well, you dont have to. I wasnt sure if you were removing the APC residue, and then going to follow up with another product the next day.

QID, esp the new one, has some protective properties, but of course you will get the most protection/moisturizing from the protectant type products.

Just an FYI, might not be a bad idea to clean windows after cleaning and dressing the plastics. That way you'll avoid having to do them twice should you happen to get any product overspray on them. Also, QID is not really a protectant. It's a daily/weekly/just freshening up the interior type thing. You'll want to go with something like Natural Shine or Supreme Shine for durable protection. In my car, I use Supreme Shine as my main protectant and just use QID to dust off the plastics as needed. Hope this helps!
