Ok I've seen quite a bit in my career but i have never seen this. A guy brought in a ford that he put a tire in his back seat for about 2 weeks. The tire left behind a black imprints of the tire on the leather. Any suggestions to get it off I couldn't get it off!

Re: Leather with tire marks help!
Few things that can be done (do a test spot 1st)
- Warm water+terry cloth (agitate with soft brush is required)
- Megs leather cleaner with terry cloth.
- APC with terry cloth/mf (agitate with soft brush if required)
- Steam cleaner with hand tool covered with terry cloth/mf.
Thats what I used in the past. Hope that helps.

Re: Leather with tire marks help!
I have a pair of khaki shorts with a perfectly imprinted Pirelli logo and text on it from when the tire was against it for a few days. It was dressed and the Endurance transferred onto my khakis.2000 Ford Explorer XLT "Deuce"

Re: Leather with tire marks help!
I recently had the same issue in my Trans Am. I have a Taupe (tan) leather seats and people often do not sit in the rear. I removed the seats for weight savings (drag racing), so I left them over a friends house. Well he left a tire lean next to it and I got a black mark on the leather and I was little annoyed.
I used leather cleaner/conditioner and some elbow grease and got the majority of it off. Still can faintly see it but once the seat was in the car, and the angle made it where you dont even notice it.

Re: Leather with tire marks help!
We recently detailed a customer's car that had the same problem, a perfect black mark from a tire. We tried everything, including a steamer and had no success. I mentioned it to the customer when he came to pick up the vehicle and his response was "I didn't expect you to be able to get that off" He owns a local tire shop and said that brand new tires combined with sunlight give off something that leaves a permanent mark. In his store, if they lay tires on the floor without something to protect the floor they will get a permanent mark.
This is different from the dirt/grease/oily/dressing type residue that you get off of a used tire which can typically be cleaned.

Re: Leather with tire marks help!
Woolite 10:1 on leather works great on removing dirt. Not sure how well it will work on a tire mark, but you can always give it a shot!
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.
