Looks like the Doc Bailey's would be the ticker for your wheel...

Since it's sort of on topic, if anyone needs to do larger areas, etc., there is a great product from Leather World Technologies (www.leatherworldtech.com) that did this to a set of Explorer seats, since you can't get them in black leather... The guy said he needed an extra 3 cans of propellant to do the seats.

Wow, I should have noted that the picture is a bit old. I did a nice thorough cleaning of the interior quite awhile ago, actually right before I took those pictures. The interior is now really clean, the only problem I have is the scratching on the plastic trim around the shift knob. The shift knob itself is being replaced, it's pretty beat up. The car hasn't been driven for about 6 years, so thats why its so dusty.

I'll try some Gold Class Leather and the Kiwi Dye, if that doesnt work, i'll just get a cover.

Oh and Megafast13, good eye there. Its an 1989 240SX.

A dye might hold up on a seat for a few months but on a steering wheal?
I think any product you put on a steering wheel is going to come off.

My steering wheel is wearing really bad, too. What do you expect for an almost 15 year old car? I had thought about re-dyeing it at one point, then I just decided to leave it and count it as a "beauty mark". Can't have everything perfect.

The problem you are having is common on the Jaguar XJ. The only sensible solution for the XJ owners is to replace the steering wheel.

Yeah, well, I don't have a Jaguar, I have a Cutlass. I'm not worried about it. I don't really like steering wheel covers, so I'll probably just leave it.

They still had leather back then, lol. *Usually* vinyl steering wheels don't have seam stitching and wrinkles in the material. I have a leather one in my Mustang, and a vinyl/rubber one in my Neon.

SEM CC is a vinyl paint. You can use it but I don't think you'll be happy with the results.
Get a nice cover at your local Auto parts store.

My can of SEM CC says it's for use on most leathers and vinyls? Covers are good anyways though. Protect it all the time.

I've used it and don't like it.
In this situation a steering wheel cover seams to be the better choice.

All Purpose Cleaner. To get Meguiar's ones, you usually need to order them online (or via phone).
