Correct carpet/upholstery procedure? QO/APC/LGM

I am getting some Quik Out and some APC (had been using APC+) on Thursday. I'm also cleaning an interior of an SUV that day. The owner says it has plenty of stains. I want to get the procedure sorted out before then so I can make the most out of my time.

1. Spray Quik Out onto stains. How long do I let it sit?
2. Scrub Quik Out.
3. Spray on APC/hot water mix from heated LGM and scrub that.
4. **** as much water from the carpet as I can and let dry.

I would fill the APC up to the fill mark on the LGM. Am I doing this right? Any idea on how long to let these things sit? Thanks in advance for the help.

my 2 cents,
While I don't have a LGM anymore, I graduated up to a Mytee Spyder, but my prep is still the same.

Treating the area with Quickout on the spots and stains and scrubbing is good, I've never timed it because I am always doing something, but I'm guessing a minute or so, then scrub.

For carpets and upholstry, you should stick with APC+, it foams less than APC and you dont want to have a bunch of soap in the carpet. I never have run soap solution in any machine, I treat the carpet with APC+ at 8:1 in a spray bottle after the Quick out. I use the brush attachment on my PC to work it in good, you could use a hand brush as well.

I then run plain water with a little white vinegar through the machine to extract from the carpet. The Vinegar helps break down the soap and you want it to rinse clean so the carpet doesn't get matted down. This combination also keeps your machine from clogging up as well as soap with clog the nozzle eventually.

Unless I get another response, that sounds like what I will do. I will use a scrub brush instead of the PC attachment and I will have to get some white vinegar as well. Thanks for the help.

+1 on using just water, or water/vinegar mix. One thing that the carpet cleaning companies don't tell you when renting a machine for your home is to put just water in the tank to rinse the product out, what ends up happening is that the solution just sits in the carpet and actually attracts the dirt quickly, therefore requiring to clean your carpets often and you renting the machine often. Rinsing/extracting with just water slows down the dirt retention because the fibers on the carpet are clean.
