I was wondering besides using a leather cleaner and conditioner, I know you can use APC 10:1. But since leather is sensitive to water would this mess up the leather? Also would you need to "rinse" the leather with water like you would when using APC in other spots, so it does not dry, and leave white marks.

    Thanks for Your Help

I have never had issues, but I will say if you spray it (APC+) directly onto the leather it tends to clean the spots where the spray hit slightly better than the surrounding areas...creating light spots.

Always spray it on your towel, then wipe.

      Re: Cleaning Leather

Well all the leather I've cleaned new and very old holds up well to a gentle/good cleaning.
I have never messed up leather
I alway "rinse" the leather. I don't want anything on the leather but, conditioner when I'm done.
I've never noticed any white marks after cleaning, what are you talking about?

        Thanks for the Replies.
To answer your question, if you let APC dry, and do not rinse, white stuff will be left behind.

Im also really wondering about this as im going to clean my dads lexus and he has some wear marks that are dull and some scuff marks. So it is okay to use the APC+ on leather? how exactly would you do it? Also, what about on vinyl?

              Re: Cleaning Leather

Sorry to say I haven't used APC or APC+ at all. I'm sure if you diluted it enough though it would remove tough stains. For general leather cleaning, I like to use #990 Vinyl and Leather Cleaner (with Oil of Mink) by Sprayway worked in with a good horsehair brush, wipe dry with a clean microfiber, and then follow up with the leather conditioner of choice. I have found that that works really good and makes the leather look, smell, and feel like new (actually better than new, IMO). You can buy #990 Vinyl and Leather Cleaner (with Oil of Mink) online from EMI Supply (http://www.emisupply.com/catalog/spr...oz-p-3239.html) for $3.95 (on sale - $6.95 is the regular price, but I just buy it from a local auto supply distributor. Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope you find the answer you're looking for!

I use Woolite (diluted ~8:1 with water). Works great. I follow it up with Meg's leather conditioner.

If you want to make sure there's no trace residues of cleaner on the surface, then maybe just give the surface a second wipe using Quick Interior Detailer, this will insure any trace residues from the first cleaner are removed and it leaves behind both UVB and UVA protection plus a fresh scent.

                    Re: Cleaning Leather

What about leather with a vinyl coating over it? My Honda seats have some sort of vinyl coating over the leather. I have been using leather cleaner, which cleaned it nicely, but leaves a "squeeky" film on top. Should I switch to a vinyl cleaner, and, if so which one would be best?

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever use Leathermaster products? Sorry if off-topic, but I am mainly concerned about using a product that will leave a greasy residue on the seats. I DO NOT want that.

Water will not harm leather.I clean it a section at a time by spraying on allpurp and scrub the area with a wet 3M scuff sponge then wipe with a water soaked microfiber if the area is tacky i spray with water and rewipe followed with a dry microfiber.when the seat is clean and dry i wipe down with a little conditioner

I like using the All purpose Cleaner at 10:1 dilution. I spray the apc on the microfiber. Wipe down the area. Then I follow it up with a damp microfiber. Then I apply a Gold Class leather cleaner and conditioner and they turn out great.

I really like using APC at 10:1 also or some of the magic erasers from ADS, follow that with the detailer line leather cleaner and conditioner and it comes out looking great.

I dont think that the detailer line cleaner and conditioner leaves a greasy feel at all you should try the sample from ADS, just apply it and wipe off excess with a clean microfiber

                              Re: Cleaning Leather

My parent's cars have leather interiors and they've been semi-neglected. I tried using an off brand leather cleaner/conditioner foam, and while it did an OK job, there are tougher stains I couldn't remove. I thought about an APC. Is the Meg's APC at 10:1 aggressive enough to remove embedded dirt and stains?

Should I use a GC foam applicator or MF applicator?
