  • M40 and QID Question

I have a bottle of both M40 and Quick Interior Detailer. On those occasions when I am using the M40 to clean the vinyl, should I go ahead and also use it on the plastic parts of the interior, or should I instead use the QID on the plastic? Or does it matter? TIA.

Well, I dont know if it is meant as much for wiping across clear plastic (low lubrication). Dont want to cause swirls over your gauges, etc. And it certainly wont absorb into the plastic as much, so you'll have to wipe off excess.

      Re: M40 and QID Question

I occasionally run M40 over harder plastics, and then wipe off excess. I figure it might help to keep the plastic from totally drying out over time.

Like Murr suggested, do be careful on clear plastics.

Like the others have stated, That seems to be the preferred method around here. I do the same. Use light pressure and you should be able to keep the gauges scratch free.

          I agree ^^^

I use both exclusively. I use the QID as a touch up, duster if you will.

I use an Even Coat Applicator and spread the product on my plastics and I am carefull on the gauge lens. I put the sprayer right on the applicator so you don't spray it all over the place .
