Spilled Meguiar's Hot Shine into My Interior What Should I Do?

as the title says.... My friend had a bottle of Meguiars Hot Shine tire gel on the ground in the back of his car and after some driving the top broke off and spilled onto his rugs. The bottle was new and the whole thing emptied out onto the rugs and interior carpet.

First thing i suggested was quik out but it didnt get the smell out. Now the interior smells sour.

i was reading about the bissel little green machine is it possible to extract the carpets and make the smell go away?

he already has air freshners but it doesnt help.

I guess extracting and using alot of APC and water will get it out eventually. Covering the smell up isn't really a solution IMHO.

soak, extract (shop vac can be used to extract, not as effective but works) and more than one time in my experience.

The problem lies as the product soaks through the carpet into the pad, may want to try to carefully extract from pad and clean the floorboard too.

I don't, but I've seen them at Walmart.

I think you best bet would be the lgm and some apc. Like Aaron says you will have to go deep down to the pad to get rid completely the smell.

Hot Shine is a thick, liquid somewhat like motor oil in consistency, if you've spilled an entire bottle into the carpet the best way to fix this problem will be to replace the carpet and any padding under it.

The best way to clean this will be to remove the carpet and the padding.

Not fun, a lot of work but the best approach.

Trying to somehow emulsify this product that is saturated into fiberous material and then somehow extract it out of the carpet is going to be extremely difficult.

What kind of vehicle is this?
