  • Sweat and leather

    Hello all,

I was just wondering how bad sweat is for leather? When I go to the gym, I tend to come out pretty sweaty. Anyway's, my sweaty shirt sits against the leather for my 20 minute ride home. I condition my leather frequently with Zaino's Z-10 conditioner. Should I change shirts before going home, or will this not really affect my 07 TSX leather?

    Thanks much!

    Well, it woudlnt hurt.

I suspect sweat would be more of a problem on suede than on the smooth coated kind of leather. But it will still absorb some.

Sweat introduced to the surface of leather over time will have an effect, so clean and condition often and maybe find a way to keep the sweat from coming into contact with the leather, like change clothes or maybe just place a bath towel in the car and before driving home place it on the seat?

What kind of an effect will it have over time? The leather is ebony in color, so I'm not sure if you'd really notice discoloration or not. Anyway's, I will just start changing shirts, but I wasn't sure if sweat would cause issues or not.
