  • Detailing interior of VW New Beetle Cabriolet

    Hi everyone,

I'm doing a detail of the VW New Beetle Cabriolet, and I'm stumped on one part of the interior.

Those who have detailed the car before, or who are familiar - I'm referring to the front passenger seat, where there is a handle-bar for the occupant to hold onto for support.

The problem I have is the 2 ends of this handle. They seem to be either made of rubber, or are coated with a rubber-like material. Over time, this is now sticky to the touch, and feels grimy. Perhaps this is the result of exposure to the sun without proper internal care all this while.

I've tried the Interior Quick Detailer, but it's of no help.

Anyone detailed this car before, and have cleaned this part? I'd appreciate some advice on how to get this done.

    Thanks in advance
    It's all a passion....

My sister has a new Jetta, I'm sure it is the same part. I will try and take a peek at it. QID isn't really a cleaner though, so it won't do much. You will need to try an APC such as Meguiar's APC, Meguiar's APC+, Simple Green (Be careful with the dilution ratios)...
