  • Bissell LGM ?

I decided to buy a Bissell LGM. Is there a big difference performance-wise between the heated unit and non-heated unit to justify the price difference? Seems they make two models – LGM (w/ green body, clear tanks) and LGM Pro (w/ white body, green tanks). On top of that, LGM Pro may or may not have heat - per their webpage.

WM wants $68.88 for the Pro non-heated unit but I found someone selling a N.I.B. Pro heated unit for $75. Should I jump on it?

From reading, I see, it’s best to spray chemicals directly on stains vs. running chemicals thru rinse tank to avoid clogging. And heater serves more for maintaining water temp vs. heating it up.

    TIA

I have the heated version. The heat comes in handy sometimes but you can also just dump hot water in to start with. I also spray the chemicals on rather then putting them in the machine. For the price I love it. I bought mine last year, it was the pet model so it comes with the useless turbo brush.

I also bought the heated one from target for $80. I bought it to clean up after my puppy who has made a mess of my carpet but I have also used in on a few cars. For $80 it seems to work pretty well.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was wondering about the turbo brush but I guess now I know.

The suction of the LGM causes the brush to spin. It doesn't seem like it does much. I just use a nylon brush by hand and do a better job.

I actually just got done using mine on my floor mats. I have the Pro Heat model with the useless turbo brush. For the weekend detailer, it is a must have. It is in the 80s for once, so I gave the interior a good cleaning.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks the turbo brush is useless!

              80's?!?! That's no fair. It's 37 and raining here.

Good to know. I'll check them out closer.

It's the first time this year. Has been in the 50s and 60s the past week, including yesterday!

You can't go wrong with one.

What I do when I am done, it run the suction handle (I made that up, IDK what it is called) under the faucet and let it **** up clean water to get any dirt and junk out of the handle, hose, and going into the tank.

For the $7.00 dollar or so difference in price, I would go with the heated model. You never know, just in case you need it it's there. Just my0.02.

Yeah, I thought about that, but then I won't have a receipt. Don't manufacturers require a receipt for warrenty work?

When the daughter took the one I had (no heat model) off to college, I replaced it with the heated model. I notice some difference between the two models. I concur with the earlier posts that the turbo brush is not worth much......

RS, Because, manufacturers want to see when you bought it. They want to see if it falls within the warranty period. When my G110 died, that was the first thing I was told to provide to receive a replace unit.

agp, was there a noticable difference w/ the heated vs. non-heated (besides the brush - which we've determined to be worthless)?
