  • QID Drying question

So we all probably do it where we use a product and probably don't read the entire label or misread something. Well I have done this with Quik Interior Detailer.

The bottle says, "Do not let the product self-dry."

Needless to say I have been letting the product self dry. My usual procedures is I will use Natural Shine about once a month or so and usually a quick wipe down with QID without letting it dry.

My question is will there be damage if QID is left to dry?

Let me know what you think and I wouldn't mind hearing the offical story from Meguiar's.

As a side note, I do not see any damage and it doesn't look like there is any damage or discoloration starting.

Obviously not an official opinion here, but I really doubt QID will harm anything if left to self-dry. Maybe it's says that for aesthetic reasons (as in, if you just spray QID on there an leave it, it would probably not look very nice)? Who knows. For that matter, I don't know if this counts or not, but I usually spray it and wipe it, and after doing that a bunch with one area of a cloth (if the dash isn't dirty), the area I just wiped usually is still damp with product and dries on its own.

There is probably a chance of getting a 'water spot' kind of thing if you left it as a puddle to evaporate without wiping aorund a little.

Needless to say, I have never read the bottle or seen that warning...

As far as self drying, like spraying it on and not wiping it? Why even use it then?

If it does leave marks it should come off with an intirior cleaner.
