  • Static effect on dashbord with tech protect

    HI.

I have used meguiars tech protect and supere shine microfiber towel, but the towel generates static electricity, and im afraid of using it on my airbags, i dont want a airbag in my face caused by static electricity.

    Any ideas, is this safe?

I have the same static issue with NXT Tech Protectant, seems to happen with any towel. Anyway.... I am no airbag expert but I would have to guess its safe, I imagine the air bags were/are designed to be safe with every type of 'interference' imaginable(static electricity/cell phones/screaming kids....). Just my thoughts!

In order for a air bag to fire there is a gravity switch that needs to be engaged first to activate the airbag. I have never ever heard of an airbag ever going off while someone was cleaning there dash. I think movies make us think that an airbag will fire on with the smallest provocation. But that is just not true. Clean away with out worry.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.
