Odor remover not cutting thru the musty smells

Had some water on my floor matts left overnight, in a spotless clean car and newish floor matts. they didn't dry overnight and now the car smells like hell of moldy must smells, tried the megulars odor remover product and aired the car for 24hrs with matts out and drove around for at least an hr with floor vents on high to try to dry out the floor ?the matts started off only slightly wet from rain on shoes.

the carpet isn't wet and neither is the matts but the smell is horrible , the megulars product didn't come close to cutting thru it
for 13 bucks au dollars I was sadly disapointed in the product. all the other things I buy from megulars amaze me of the quality and outcomes, going to try the all purpose cleaner today but hope it's not a waste of more money ?
any ideas on how to clear up the smell.

hmm I use something called Blue Coral...didn't knoe meguires made stuff...also may wanna try a steam cleaner of some sort...

I second the Blue Coral Dry clean with odor eliminator. I have a post going in the professional forum about my window being left open and heavy rain causing a horrible smell.. I've tried the professional line "Odor Eliminator" and it did not cut thru the nasty smell. It however did HELP. As a last resort I tried the Blue Coral and it seemed to really help with the smell. The most important thing to remember is, you will still have some smell as long as the area is Damp. It takes awhile to dry throughly.

Only other thing that will actually "kill" the odor is an ozone generator of some type. They are usually pretty pricey, but they always work.

I've heard (not tested) that a cup of baking soda also works wonders. It's known to kill odors in places like refrigerators, closets, etc. so it might work in your car as well.

Of course if the padding under the carpet was damp long enough, mildew and odor can be trapped in it. My only suggestion would to take the carpet out of the vehicle and check the padding. My g/f car had a "musty" smell to it from different things, especially milk spilled and soaked into the carpet. I used APC+ (diluted 10:1) for the carpet and seats. I also used Odor Eliminator on the carpet and seats. It really made a difference in looks and smell of her car. I would check the padding on your carpet to make sure it's not molded.

For the really skanky smells that end up in my car i always go for a heavy duty odor remover. Ozone generators work the fastest and the best and they're so easy to use. I'm using the Mobile Pro from RGF to get the smells out. Nothing works better and it's very fast and leaves no chemicals or cover up odors behind.

I would of first taken the mats out and given them a good scrub with APC+. Let those dry outside of the car and pull the carpet up if it got wet. Thats the only way to let the padding dry out.

I have an old crown victoria beater that had a water ingress problem at the firewall, being I ignored it for a while the carpets went through many wet dry cycles making them smell horrible, once I got around to fixing it the way I got rid of it is the same way we use to treat vehicle air conditioning systems and below carpet foam padding at work..
Lysol, Given I had the carpet removed and dried thoroughly, each day at work I'd spray both sides of the carpet. This is something you need to be carefull with as it could possibly discolor the carpet, it didn't in my case and workes great because it kills all mold/mildew, and after a week or so of continual airing the lysol smell leaves.
