Basic INt Detailing questions

OK, I have a Dodge Magnum and since it was new i have use the Meguiars Quick Int Detailer, Quick Leather Detailer for cleaning up in the car.

I have some scuff marks in the kick pannel and doors that I cant seem to get rid of.

I have used Simple Green, dawn and a scrb brush and nothing seems to be makinga dent in it.

Suggestions on cleaning those out ?

Next would be the long term leather care, do I need to do anything else to it other than the Quick Leather Detailer ?

Will the quick Int detailer need something else for teh dash for protection or will it by itself do a good job of that ?

The car is parked outside, ( yea Condo Living ! ) so I want to make sure the dash will last.

Has anyone tried OxyClean on Automotive cloth for some dirt marks ?

Try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser on the doors and kick panels. It's the only thing that cleans the scuff marks on my vette's door sills. Use a light touch at first and see how it works.

1. Scuffs/scratches in colored plastic are pretty much staying. There is no good way to remove a scuff without changing the texture, so you'll still see something. The best you can do is dress it, and that will hide it some.

2. Well, the Leather Spray is kind of a mild product. For deeper cleaning, conditioning, you would want to order this:

Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner



Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner



Diluted All-Purpose Cleaner can also be used for leather cleaning, just be sure to follow up wih a conditioner.

3. The Quick Interior Detailer is more of a light cleaner, like the exterior Quick Detailer. Just like you still want a coat of wax on thecar, you'll want a vinyl/plastic protectant on the interior as well. I like the Nxt Tech Protectant myself. Then use the QID for weekly/every so often dustings.

4. Diluted All-Purpose Cleaner will work ok, but i have had good success on headliners/seats with this product:

Thanks, Ill give the Cleaner/conditioner a try on the seats. What bugs me is the shoe marks on teh kick pannels :/

Had same problem in my 06 vette. Tried everything.... Only thing that works is Mr Clean Magic Eraser as above!!!!!

Best thing you can do to protect your dash from the sun is to use a good quality, form fitting sun screen. That will also help somewhat to keep interior temperatures down, which can only help the longevity of your interior. Of course, keeping the sun off the leather seats is also one of the best things you can do for the leather. So a sun screen is all good .

Although our cars sleep in the garage, they're pretty much outside in the sun half the time (my wife has covered parking at work, I don't, and we swap cars every week - no his or hers). We religously use the OEM sunscreens for our cars, and in summer, when it's very hot, I'll even use a sun screen for the rear window of our coupe. I do not like any products on the dash - only a damp cloth every now and again, and I will challenge you to distinguish the dash on our 5.5 year old SUV from a new one in the showroom.
