Using Meguiar's G2960 Basic Headlight Restoration Kit
When using any of our headlight restoration products be sure to read & follow the directions on the product packaging, and use this article for a reference.
Meguiar's G2960 Basic Headlight Restoration Kit is a great option if you are looking to work strictly by hand, don't mind putting in a little time, and want to save on cost.
To demonstrate this kit we worked on a 2004 Honda Civic. The headlight lens on the left of the vehicle was actually in worse shape than the right, which could be due to where the vehicle is parked or stored, but both lights needed some help.
Light to moderate clouding, yellowing & oxidation:

Right headlight lens also yellow & clouded but not as bad as the left side

It is recommended to cover the adjacent panels with masking tape prior to using our Basic HL Restoration Kit.

This kit contains 3 hand sanding pads, a small bottle of our PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish, and a microfiber towel. Per the directions, we started out by soaking the sanding pads in a container of water for 1 minute.

Next we used a spray bottle of plain water to mist the headlights, and then began to sand. It is recommended to frequently rinse the sanding pads & lens with water to extend the life of the pads. If you don't have a extra spray bottle to fill with water, you can also just frequently dunk the sanding pads in a small container of water.
When sanding by hand for this particular kit is it best to use straight line motions. Wipe off the headlight in-between each step and rinse the sanding pads & lens with water often.
#1 Sanding Pad - Up and Down Motions
#2 Sanding Pad - Side-to-Side Motions
#3 Sanding Pad - Up and Down Motions
#4 Sanding Pad - Side-to-Side Motions
Sanding with the #1 Pad

The below picture shows the appearance of the headlight after the #1 Sanding Pad. A uniform "frosted" like appearance.

Continuing through the sanding steps.

The below picture shows the appearance of the headlight after the #4 Sanding Pad. The sanding marks are much more refined, which will make them easier to remove.

Next we dispense PlastX onto the included microfiber towel and begin working in thoroughly until no scratches remain & the lens is clear.

The lens is starting to become clear.

And that's it, yellowing & oxidation removed, and light is restored to clear clarity. After the left side headlight was complete, we repeated the process on the other side. Next all there was left to do was check out our results! Below are some AFTER pictures:
