  • Can a da be used for sanding and polishing headlights

Hey everyone so i was going to get the professional headlight kit without the air sander and polisher. I don't have room in my trailer for a big air compressor. So my question was is it possible to use my port cable DA to wetsand and polish ? ~ HSRNT HEAdLIgHT ANd SPOT REPAIR SYSTEM

Yes most people use a DA for that.

If you're going to use our Unigrit sanding and finishing discs just remember that you only need a couple sprays of plain water to use them. They are meant for damp sanding, not true wet sanding (where the abrasive media is soaked overnight and then the surface is flooded with water while sanding). And that's a good thing since none of the popular electric DA buffers on the market today are UL rated for wet use! We all know what happens when you mix electricity and water Just pay attention to how much water you're using, where you put the buffer down, etc and you'll be fine. Common sense is your best buddy here.

I do use them but I don't like the DA of a Dual Action it throws the water around alot.
I prefer my rotary due to the fact it just spins.
But by all means you can use a DA just watch the sling.

                    Hum....
                    For doing it professionally?

                    DeWalt Rotary, $300 bucks
Backing disk, pads, sanding paper, polish, tape and protective paper: $140 bucks
                    UV Paint $30 bucks..

                    Start up cost $500 bucksish
2 lens $250 per lens, lol.

Now if you have a everything listed above your actual cost is only the polish, paint/UV coating and tape/paper per lens so around $5 bucks.
