What am I missing with headlight rest kit? Still yellow...

This is for my girlfriends 2002 CLK320.

You can see left(worked on) and right, and its about 1/2 better, but its far from white.

I followed the instructions and used my drill, but as I said, its not white yet and still dull and yellowish. What am I missing here? Do I just need to be more aggressive with this one?

Ok... that reflector pattern looked a bit like some glass ones do.

How did it look after using the sandpaper included in the kit? Should be fairly white, but cloudly after the paper? Then the drill/PlastX to remove the sanding marks.

Do you have close-up pictures?

The damage could also be inside the lens. Also, are there any tiny hairline cracks too?

Maybe try turning the speed up on your drill? (if your drill has that option) & make sure your batterie is fully charged.(if cordless)

sounds like you are using the regular headlight res kit try the heavy duty one it contains sanding disc or just buy sandpaper and use it first

The problem is those lenses. They do not get very clear when restoring for some reason, the problem is linked to those particular types of lights. I'm guessing that they experienced some sort of breakdown in the plastic. From the factory, they are clear, but after some years they cant be restored like typical headlights.
