My process is really simple. I start by wetsanding with 800, 1000 then finish with 2000. Next I use my high speed Hitachi corded drill equipped with a (excuse the competitors product LOL) Mothers Powerball Mini with some PlastX for polishing. After polishing is done, I proceed to wipe away any remaining polish with a Scott Blue Shop Towel soaked with mineral spirits. After both lights are completly clean of dust or other conraminents, I use Minwax Helmsman Spar Uerathane, mixed 1:1 with Mineral Spirits for a UV protective clear coat to prevent future oxidation. It is applied with another Scott Blue Shop Towel folded into a 2X2 in square. Start by wiping from the top to the bottom with light to medium pressure for even coverage. It may look streaky at first, but after a few minutes when the mineral spirits start to evaporate, the mix smoothes out completly with no streaks, If applied corectly. Do you use high gloss Helmsman or satin?

CHzo6, I usee the clear gloss Helmsman. I've used this on several cars and has truned out great every time. No runs, streaks or anything.
