  • My turn (headlight save)

Well this is what I started with:
A set of headlights on a 1996 Ford Contour

Here are some half and half shots. Forgot to get a full after shot but I'm sure you get the idea.

Great save! Hate it when headlights are oxidized but love them when they are clear and scratch free!

Did this involve sanding ir did you strictly use a compound/cleaner?

Thanks guys. Sorry about not posting my method I got called away.

After washing the lights I used a 2000 grit wet paper ( I use this grit for alot) untill I got a nice even "haze". I tend to sand, check, sand, check. I applied a nice bead of MEGs G12310 PlastX to the light and used a yellow Megs pad on rotary (Makita). Repeating this process till I achive the results I am looking for. I follow up when the polishing is done with a couple of coats of wax (NXT 2.0) Pretty easy to do really.

                P.S.
As a side note I did try just the PlastX without the wet sanding but did not get the clearity I was looking for.
