Thats perfect, you have a DA.
Try this ive done it quite a few times.
1-Use the 3000 grit paper to make the lens to an uniform and smooth level.
2-Then on the DA use a 4" polishing pad with PlastX on it to remove the sanding marks and polish the headlight. Work for 2 minutes or until the PlastX dries and becomes super dirty cause of old plastic.
3-Remove the PlastX before it dries up in the headlight
4-Repeat step 2 again (Until you feel confortable with the results) and remove the excess of product.
5-After your comfortable with the results, on another pad, put some M105 or UC and work it in the headlight for about 30 Seconds on Speed 4.5 or 5.
That should bring up the Headlight back to life.
Thats IMO, if someone else have some other way to do it, im fine with that.
