what sealers do you all use?

I looked through all 4 pages (yeah...ALL 4! ) and only saw one thread, but they mentioned the use of lamin-x or clear bras. What spray-on's or other clear coat sealers have you all used with success?

I've heard mention of some sort of miniwax product used to seal woods, krylon clear coats...ect....

Something to protect your clear plastic, like a headlight, or plastic windows, etc?

My apologies for not specifying. Im looking for something to seal up the headlights after a restoration.

You can wax your headlights with whatever wax you're using on the rest of the car. That's what I always do.

Apply a coat of your favorite wax as something is better than nothing, besides that you can look into the protective films and apply one of these. Do a Google search with these terms and you'll pull up plenty of links.

Thanks for the input all, but I am looking for a spray acrylic or polycrylic...something of that nature. I am aware of using wax and paint sealants and will still use those, but I'd feel more comfortable sealing the lights with a clear coat equiv. before applying an LSP.

Not sure I have seen any "clearcoat" type sprays used on headlights around here.

I think a few people have used the plastic films, but thats about it around here.

Someone at a detail shop that does headlights mentioned the use of an acrylic sealer use for wood decks that he uses on headlights. It got me thinking on what everyone else used (other than wax and paint sealers)

I know you can clearcoat plastic tail lights. My buddy tinted his then took them to the local body shop and had them cleared. You can probably do the same for plastic headlights, minus the tinting of course. But if your headlights are made of glass than i don't think you can clear them.

First I've ever heard of this type of product being used on plastic headlight covers? Maybe you can get the detailer to share the specific product they're using?

Im almost certain it was one of the miniwax line products. If I figure it out, I will be sure to update.

my logic behind it is:
If you sand it, you're taking off a film of UV protection (That failed no less). The results from that failure are the oxidized lights. I dont want it to recur or at least I'd like to prolong it as much as possible. I feel a clear coat will do that. A tinted one will too, but I want clear

found it! Minwax polyurethane High Gloss. Next set of lights I do, Ill apply it and see how it works out.
