  • ADS: HD Resto kit question

    Kit includes:
M10512 Ultra Cut Compound 12 oz.
    G12310 PlastX Polish 10 oz.
325 Velcro Backing Plate for Drill
    301G Wool Cutting Pad (1-Pad)
    330G Foam Polishing Pad (1-Pad)
    S2000 Sand Paper (4 Sheets)
E-7200 Backing Pad for Sand Paper
    85-653 Wool/Foam Cleaning Brush
    Kit includes step-by-step instructions

Presuming I keep the pads clean after using, should I be able to use the kit several times?

The S2000 Sand paper - is that just 4 sheets of 2000 grit? Wouldn't it be wise for me to get some 1k, 1500, and possible 2500 or 3000 grit?

I think it is supposed to be a one time thing.
But I am sure you can use it multiple times

Re: ADS: HD Resto kit question

Well you can use the hardware for a long time
your M105 should last you a few (3) cars but don't use less then recommended on the first car.
I think you might need to get more product if you want to do more than 2 car
Also put one sheet of that sand paper in water with a dash of soap
      Store the rest 'till 2020.
You shouldn't need a heaver git unless you have some deep orange peal or ruff paint
      I have 1000, 2000 & 3000
I barely use 1000 and I'm starting to question even using 3000
M105 should remove 2000 sanding marks with no problem

Re: ADS: HD Resto kit question

Thanks for the replys guys. Any more suggestions or inputs are appreciated. I'm planning on using this kit for my car and my wife's car...then doing a co-workers car for a small fee. I have restored the headlights on my MIL's van with that $20 kit from the parts store that comes in the silver packaging with really decent results.

EDIT; Results of that $20 kit found here. http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...017#post305017

I guess my question should have been worded differently. I was asking more about the pads...As long as i keep them clean, I should be able to reuse them a few times correct?

yes, a year or so depending on your useage.
I have pads from....I can't remember when I got them
Just take care of them and they'll last
