  • hyper dressing runs...

I used it for the first time the other day as follows:

    -covered alternator etc
-rinsed bay and underside of bonnet/hood
-applied degreaser and agitated with brush
    -rinsed thoroughly
-allowed to dry and wiped roughly with terry towel

Then i diluted some dressing 3:1 and sprayed liberally all over. After leaving it to dry for about half an hour I came back and noticed quite a few runs...

Is this down to the prep? Should I try and get everything bone dry before dressing?
Also should the surfaces be soaking or just have a fine mist sprayed on them?

Certain areas came out lovely, so I really want to get everything to the same standard.

If anyone can see where I have gone wrong or has any tips on application, it would be great

I use a similar application method for Hyper Dressing under the hood and on tires. One additional step I do is to go ahead and wipe off the excess product off the engine trim and hoses, rather than let the product dry. I apply 2 coats of dressing to the tires and wipe off excess. Give that a try and see if that helps with the product running. Of course less product applied with two coats might help too.

Good luck and great choice of product.

No problem. I tested your application method for hyper dressing on my vehicle's tires yesterday. It worked out great. The dressing dried (eventually, it did take a while) and zero sling. I also did the same method for the wheel wells and that too worked out great. Normally I would have removed the excess with a terry. Thanks for the idea. I will still wipe down the engine compartment though.
