  • HID ballasts and water?

Alright since my last engine compartment detail I added real HID's. They're Osram Ballasts. I modified my headlight seals to work with the different bulbs so that should be well sealed up. But does anyone know if you can safely get the ballasts wet? I'm assuming you can as they use them stock in some cars, but I really don't want to fry several hundred dollars.

I have Hella Gen III Ballasts, which are different and they are splash proof. But not sealed fully. I usally take them out of the engine bay when detailing. Just unhook and put the connectors into a baggy.

Alright thanks. That's kind of what I figured, they can get wet but not too wet. I'll probably side with caution and remove them for the next engine detail.
