I installed a Volant CAI this weekend and decided to clean my engine while I was at it. I'll admit I was hesitant to spray water on my engine, however, I read a lot of the posts on here and was very careful. I think next time I can do a better job since I will not be as nervous. Below is the process and the results. Thanks for looking.

After:

- While installing the CAI, I wiped down some of the dirtier areas with an old rag and APC diluted 10:1
- I put plastic bags around the battery, amp fuse, alternator, fuse box, and ECM. I had one bag left, so I tore it in half and used each half to cover my HID ballasts just for good measure.
- I sprayed a gentle stream of water over the engine and underside of hood
- I sprayed APC on and used a wheel brush to agitate
- I thoroughly sprayed the engine down with a gentle stream of water
- I removed the bags and started the engine
- I left the hood open and engine running while I washed my wheel wells and tires
- I then wiped up what little water was left, closed the hood and proceeded to wash the rest of the truck
- After my normal wash and UQW, I opened the hood and wiped down plastic covers and hoses with Hyper Dressing
