congrats on the new ride !!!....always easier to keep it clean than to let it go and try and clean it later...it's a great habit to get into...or as I like to call it, an ADDICTION !...good luck with it !!

Is there any special engine dressing to use (because of the heat issues)? I have been using the Conditioning wipes for all the plastic/rubber parts. Is this OK?
Not sure which conditioning wipes you mean, probably the Gold Class ones? But they are not going ot be the most cost-effective products for you, if you intend to detail often.
You will really want to look into either Hyper-Dressing or All-Season Dressing. There are other options, but those seem like my favorites. Hyper Dressing is probably the most cost-effective, but All-Season Dressing should last a bit longer.
Before dressing, you could also wipe the surfaces with either All-Purpose Cleaner or the Safe-Degeaser to clean everything. Then dress. You wont get a much better value than a jug of APC or Safe-Degreaser and a jug of dressing.
If your in the area on a Wednesday night, they have a great Cruise Night in the area. Over 100 cars show up. Its in Wykcoff in the DMV parking lot. You should check it out. I am there most weeks. Thanks for the product info, what the best way to apply, a sponge?
I have some cheaper small Target brand MF towels that I use for dressings, windows, door jambs if needed, etc.
I just grab two... apply a couple squirts of dressing to one towel, wipe around, reapply to towel as needed, etc, doing the whole car. Then I wait 5 minutes or so, then buff excess with the other towel.
Are these products made to handle the heat from a engine? That was part of my original question. I didnt want to use something that would cause a fire under the hood. (I was using ArmorAll Protectant Wipes) didnt have the Meguiars.

Looks great! Its easy to keep clean if it starts out clean, with the product suggested above its easy work. I prefer Hyper Dressing under the hood, apply and let dry... lasts for ever under the hood!
