Ok, I have been lurking for a long time, reading, re-reading, trying to soak it all in...so I thought I would get some All Purpose Cleaner and some #40 Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner...there is a place here in town that sell the detailer line....so, 30 minutes later my Honda Pilot engine compartment is the talk of the block!!!......I bought the Pilot used from my older brother, who bought it new in late 2003 (it is a 2004)...he NEVER washed the motor...and I like a clean motor so I usually rinse it down and wipe it clean....I "thought" I had a clean engine compartment but after see the results on this forum, I "knew" I had to give it a go....

I didn't foil or wrap my altenator, I was just careful not to spray the cleaner or the #40 on it...the battery was a no brainer, CLEAN IT....like I said I have been washing and rinsing motors in my cars since 1977, my first car, and have NEVER had ANY issues with doing so....

Here is the before and the next post will have the after....Enjoy and THANK YOU MAGUIRE'S for this website....Kelly

I forgot to mention to note the brake vacuum canister and the hoses....and there is still some #40 pooled in the center of the black engine cowling....so I later buffed it out with a terry cloth towel and it looked even better....again, thanks Maguires and those that have posted with instructions....MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!
