Nah, I don't think it's odd at all, and it's not just Meguiar's Mirror Glaze products that require multiple approaches. I use other companies' products for this work as well as Meguiar's stuff. Same story for all the different products. There's no magic bullet.

I'll often use a rotary, then a Cyclo, and then a PC to get a perfect finish. Many steps are sometimes required, and it's not quick or easy, but I get what I want in the end. Other people might be able to do it with fewer steps and/or fewer machines, and I *know* many people do it a lot faster, but that's them. If I could abbreviate the process and get the same results I would, but it takes what it takes and I just live with it.

And just because somebody says they do something, and show pictures that doesn't mean that the results they get would please you in real life. It's not like any manufacturer is gonna say "this is hard work, our products won't make it easy. The results you're after might be very difficult to achieve". Everybody makes it sound like their stuff will magically solve every problem with no sweat. It's advertising, and I always take it with a whole shaker full of salt. That's not a poke at Meguiar's or anybody else, BTW.

Different paints are gonna require different approaches anyhow. Every job is the same, and every job is different if you know what I mean. Horses for courses as they say.

And FWIW, I'm not a pro, just somebody who keeps his personal vehicles very, very nice.

Accumalator you make some great points... Guess sometimes when you are doing what you can to make money as fast as you can, if something is touted as being better, more cost effecient and have people using said system with great results, makes you wonder what is going on with your system or what you are doing....

I had said it many times before simply because I am new here, that I wanted clear definitive answers for what was going on and why the products where not doing what they were supposed to do using the RB...and that I was not bad mouthing MG... I can now see after good correspondence here, that if I continue with MG products this is the system and extra tool I need to eliminate my problems

I say with good faith, after using the DA Polisher tonight again after getting home, it took the swirls right out of a panel and made it flat as could be... This is what I am after so I dont have comebacks when I ship freshly painted vehciles.

Thanks for all those that have helped... When it is all done, including a few panel repairs ( dang women drivers) I will post up some pics...

I am going to detail this thing all the way out... Engine bay etc...

Do any of you have a link for a particular thread regarding all this so I dont bug anyone?? I know what it is like to answer the same thing week after week... I do that on body forums

I want this ride to look super sweet and with so many products, I get a little confused... and I cant ask my store... I want to know from those who do this everyday.

      Thanks''

I have been trying to reply, but I haven't been able to find the right words so it doesn't sound like I'm talking down. Accumalator and the others said it well enough for me. Up until now, I guess it would be close to say that you have been on the 'rough' or 'beginning' stages of OC (Obsessive Compulsive) detailing. Going from a fresh raw paint job through wet-sanding and heavy polishing like you have been, it makes sense that you're not accustomed to knowing for sure how to deal with the micro-fine stuff we are used to dealing with in this stage of the detailing arena.

From your pics, it's obvious that you have skill, you just needed that last lightbulb to come on to show you the step you've been missing.

Another thing is that for many on this forum, detailing to this degree isn't "work," it's a hobby, relaxation, therapy. Taking hours to massage a car, getting the finish looking 'just right' while sometimes frustrating, provides more stress relief than can be imagined by those not "Infected" by the detailing bug.

Use the SEARCH button and try key phrases, if that doesn't get you what you want...just ask. No question is stupid and there are plenty of people here who will: A) answer your question directly or B) provide a link leading to the information you need.

        regards,
        Don
