  • Attention Mike Phillip's

I was just wondering becuase I was asked to detail a boat if the professional 80 series could be used or do I have to exclusivly use the marine line products.

As a general rule, use the Marine Line for Marine application and either the Consumer Line, or the Professional Line for Automotive application.
    • * What are you working on?
      * What is the coating?

Some high performance and show boats have clear coat finishes on them.

Is it in good condition? Or neglected condition?

    Do you have a picture?

      hey mike,

Thanks for getting back to me quickly.
This is really all that I know.
It is a 1988 30 ft Searay Sundancer
It has some Mild to medium oxidation(what the owner told me)
No pictures yet will hopefully have some soon.
As far as I know because I had at one time a 1987 searay ,it is a gel coat finish.

Since we're talking about a Fiberglas gel-coat, then yes you're going to get the best results using product from the professional line.

Try using something like the M44 Color Restorer to remove the oxidation and restore a high gloss finish.

Follow that with the M45 Boat/RV polish

Follow that with Flagship Premium Wax x 2 coats

Some marinas will take a gelcoat that is faded and spray Imron (clearcoat) over it to renew it. If they do that then you would treat it like paint.

The products Mike suggested can totally transform a faded gelcoat and make it look better than new.
