  • detail certification

My name is Jason Sprague, and I think a detail certification program would be great. I have been in the field for 14 years, and I am a former business owner. My resume for a detail job, shows my work history, but not my actual skills. I show my talents, once I am hired, and then the boss man understands why I deserve a lot more money than they are paying. I think all detailers or those that want to be detailers should have to pass a certification program. I believe this would keep young kids away from fowling up a paint job due to no experience. A master certification would give detailers the respect they owed. A mechanic has to become certified, so why not us. I myself would love to have the certificate, for my own piece of mind, and accomplishments. I would also like to teach a class like that. I live in the state of Washington, and it would go great over here. You could have a basic knowledge test, all the way up to a wet sanding, buffing, and even paint chip repair test. If you would be interested in setting up something like that in this area please let me know, and I would be more than happy to help

I really dont know if this would work.Let me give you a example.ASE certified Master technicans get respect and every basket case vehicle that comes through the door because they are Masters.Usually these are cars that were repaired previously or built with serious problems. And most dealers dont want to pay for a Master techs skills anymore than a butcher in the stall next to him.The Masters usually say thet they wish they had never become Master Techs.Ive been in the auto business for 12 years. So ive seen some of this certification process take place.Im not saying that this would be a bad thing to get certified but how many quacks are there in any line of work.Example doctors.

Hey I agree that it may not be for everyone, but it may make some people feel that have something to show for. I know what you mean about mechanics. They get all the **** work that non certified ones get.
