  • To all pro detailer's out there !

A few of my guys (detailers ) want to know how many of you really clay vehicles before you polish ... I guess the real question is do you just buff and polish or clay buff and polish? What is your answer....

Clay, always clay it helps the buffing go a little faster and the paint comes out smoother. I even clay before a regular wash and wax.

Always clay even if its not that bad. Would rather the surface be slick than a little rough.

Before? Would it not be better to wash the car 1st?

I clay as needed. Usually, my regular customer's vehicles don't need to be clayed too often since I wash them weekly and usually polish/wax every 2-3 months. New customer's vehicles however almost always need to be clayed. Even cars right off the dealer's lot.

                Got Clay!

A detail is not a detail without clay. It just makes the paint feel that much better. customer's love it
Products are only a good as the detailer using them.

Unless its totally unnecessary....which never happens.

                    Clay before buffing.
They are really two different steps, accomplishing distinctly different goals.

We do it in the (during) wash bay.
