Meguiar's recommends using premium quality microfiber polishing cloths or clean, soft 100% cotton towels.

How would you use flour to remove wax, wouldn't it just make a big mess?

Body shops use Prepsol or Alcohol to remove wax. I've never gone to that extreme but that would pretty much guaranttee a wax free finish, ready for painting.

I have heard of it also and that's the same reason I was searching the Internet for ideas, found Autopia and the Meg's site and never looked back. I have never seen this done to a veh. My older brother said the guys in the shop He use to work in did it on there trucks that are used in the trucking industry, over the road dump trucks. (at least here anyway) I thought it was baby powder?...Not something I try today.

Flour to remove wax, that is a new one on me.

Showing my age I recall in 1958 that I was advised by an ole' painter to use "corn starch" and a rag to shine my paint finish.

Maybe the corn starch became flour and maybe "shine" became remove wax.

Or, maybe that long ago I forgot that he told me to remove the wax and shine the car with corn starch and a towel.

In any case, both methologies sound bizzare. But, until we try it we can't criticize it.

Someone try the corn starch and let me know. Too rainy here in Portland to detail cars. It has been raining for 3.5 months almost everyday.

Apples are not the only thing that is BIG in Portland. We have tall trees, long grass and great wine.
