My question for mobile detailers: has anyone found portable lighting that is an adequate substitution for the sun, to finish the long jobs or add a last minute client?
I've seen those halogen work lamp stands for a good deal at Lowe's/Home Depot, but if my memory serves me correct from when I've seen one in action they would not be ideal lighting for a detailing setting.
I've tried googling "portable florescent lighting", but not really seeing anything workable to have stuffed in a corner of my van and still be adequate "fake sun"..
Winter hours are a pain! Too many times am I losing business to less busy competition because someone wants a job done asap and I just don't have time. Earlier in the year I had no problem squeezing in last minute clients because it didn't get dark until 8 pm. I kinda made a habit of even trying to make my last appointment no later than 3 pm because I always seemed to get those calls where someone wants there car done "NOW".
