For those of you who have started a detailing business, what kind of referral program have you started? Or thought about starting?

I've been detailing as a hobby for years, and started a business about a year ago, business is good, but not enough to make it a full time gig. I am in a unique situation, because my dad runs a small business doing residential and commercial painting, and before I started detailing I worked for him. Now I just do both, the more detailing I do the less painting I do and vise versa l. The point is they are both self employment type jobs and I don't have a set schedule for either

Although I would like to get my detailing business to be a full time gig and spend little to no time painting.

A referral program seems to be a good way to do that. But I would like to get some ideas from what you guys do before i start that.

Any other ideas to get more people in the door would be great.

    Marketing.....

I will sometimes offer a 20% referral (20% of the job goes to the referrer), or..... offer a service to them for either free or a substantial discount...... if you have a web, offer an online coupon.

      Re: referral program

I'm always a fan of the original referral program: do top quality work then ask for a referral. No discounts or referral fees necessary.
