Hey mobile guys. I work a regular 40 hr job and I have a detail trailer that I do side work with here & there, but I really want to work full time mobile. I was wondering if you guys thought right now is too close to winter to get started ( since I don't have alot of clientele built up yet). I'm kinda scared that it'll be too slow for winter. Especially just getting started. Has anyone started this late in the summer & had success? I feel like I need to get on the ball with it, but scared to quit my regular job. I have years of Exp detailing & do quality work, just kinda scary! Any kind of feed back would be great! Thanks

Re: starting mobile in august?
well im about to do the same thing
i have done some few cars and read a lot in the internet here and autogeek and learned so much but i still didnt go full time biz cuz i have a full time morning job
if u are scared of doing a full time business first see how much $$ can u make detailling cars per month ?
if the cash u earned with detailing is the almost the same or more than your monthly salary then u should go full time
this article will help u alot with the type of business u want

Re: starting mobile in august?
any time to start your business is a good time!
Plus you don't want to be overwhelmed.
Start slow and build up as you learn.
Plus finding and keeping a good helper is a big part and that defanetly takes time.
Put yourself on yelp, google maps and get a website asap.

Re: starting mobile in august?
I was in the same boat as you. ALL i can tell you is to have faith and lots of patience. At first it will be a scary experience wondering if you made the right decision to quit your job. Then you will be wondering if you should go back and work for someone again. If detailing is your passion as it is mine's, you cannot look back. Make sure you have enough money saved to sustain you through the slow periods which will happen. I use my down time to think of strategies to make my business successful.Ultimate Custom Detailing LLC
