  • Makita 9227 I got!!

Okay, I should have my Makita 9227 coming next Monday. Can I use those backing plate and thosee pad it came with it?
If I can't what you guys can recommend? I see there's 6", 6.5" ,7.5" and 8.0" foam any woven pads.

I'm aiming at the Edge 2000 which the quick release chuck. What you guy think?

Here's my plan for later this season.

Rotary Buffer Backing Plates the 6.5" pads and three pack of pads

2 Soft Buff® Foam Polishing Pads
    and 1 SOFTBUFFâ„¢ Finishing Pad.

The reason for the 6.5" pads is I've read they're easier to control when starting out using the rotary.

That's my plan IF I make the step up this year.

      Scrub,

Those are velcro type right? Like I had them in my PC. Those BP, do I just need to screw onto the 5/8x11 shunk right?
Which pads are for removing swirls and heavy paint defects?

yep the 5/8 should fit just fine.

The pads are Velcro and are the same as the PC pads. Another reason to use the 6.5" pads. You won't have to buy all new pads!

For heavy paint defects try this pad SOFTBUFFâ„¢ Cutting Pad. It will leave behind some haze as you are aware of and will need a finer polish to remove the haze.

Try this link for Centering Megs Pads since you mentioned you might try the Edge pads. The edge pads advertise easy centering I think.

        Good luck.
