  • Enameled trim

What can one use on the glossy enamel-like trim of the Infiniti FX located on the doors(window frame). Trim detailer gets it a bit greasy and even with a wipe down doesn't seem to do much. Although it works great on other trim.

Does anyone know what this material is made of? I'm thinking that one should just polish/buff/wax it like paint.

If it's enamel paint, (or any kind of paint), treat it as paint.

Well that's my question Mike. It seems to scratch easily like clear coat and it looks like clear coat. To be more specific I'm talking about the trailing b-pillar portion of the front window frames. Traditionally, this has been painted metal. Now it appears to be clear coated. Just wanted to make sure what I'm working with. Thanks as always Mike.

So does everyone else just polish and wax this section(whether clear coated or not)?

Here's a pic of what I'm referring to

The roof rails and spoiler are coated with the same material.

We have trim pieces like this on our Pilot and I believe they are plastic, as in the material is plastic and the coating is a high gloss plastic. I do notice they scratch easy and show scratches easy. I always wax our and it seems to work just fine.

After it warms up I'll take a close look and try some M10 Plastic Polish and see how that looks.
