  • Need some Website Feedback

I made a website recently and would like some feedback form you guys. Also would like some feedback on prices. I do live in very small town and it is hard to advertise here, so only word of mouth work here. Thanks.

    Re: Need some Website Feedback

Looks nice, simple, uncluttered. I would suggest not using personal, first-person pronouns. "I" and "me" makes you sound like a small time operation and some people will shy away from that.

    For example:

I perform high quality, fully self-contained auto detailing services

    to...

Performing high quality, fully self-contained auto detailing services

Looks great. Very simple and to the point. Perhaps you'd consider changing "Rates" to "Services" or "Packages" so you're showing the customer that you're more focused on them and their needs.

One other improvement could be an explanation of the services you offer. This will give the customer a chance to understand why they need the services you're offering.

Just my 2 cents. My site needs work, but here it is: http://www.majeika.com/. Going for a redesign this year once I find the time.

        Hope this helps a little!

Thank you for input. Also I am not sure how I can improve the explanation of services, as I don't offer many but just basic 3-step correction, and above it explains what each package contains and then the extras at the bottom.

I tried to make it simple, with not a lot of reading
I guess it doesn't work that way lol

            Re: Need some Website Feedback

            1) I might change the first sentence: "This is a place to get your car detailed to perfection."

How about something like this? "SK Auto Detailing will make your car detailed to perfection." or "We will achieve perfection while detailing your vehicle."

            2) You have 2 spaces in between "headlight polishing."

            3) You may want to consider changing one word in the last sentence from "done" to "performed" or "completed"

I know it sounds picky, but it just makes it a little more formal and professional in my opinion. I love the picture of the Land Rover at the opening! Makes it seem trustworthy! Also, I don't see your name anywhere on the page, or an about you section. Just might make it a bit more personal, but overall it looks great! I love the design of the site.

Is there a reason you're not including a phone number? I know that people are starting to be overly cautious in entering emails and information into forms... You might include a business phone number.

                Looks good.
Like other have said, you might want to include a phone number so people can talk to you for a warmer contact and make them more confident.
The font you used for your name on the top of the page is nice, but SK is kinda hard to see.

I'm also considering a website, but I still don't know if it's worth it.
In 2008 and 2009, I tried to advertise here in my tiny town (gas station, post office, bank) but it didn't seem to work at all. Since then, word of mouth have brought me a regular basis of customers that come back to me every summer. They also talk of me to their relatives. I began a couple of years ago with maybe 4-5 customers, last summer I detailed close to 30 cars. I made my own business card and always put a couple of them on the console of every car I detail. Here in countryside, it seems to work better than advertising for me.

                  Re: Need some Website Feedback

                  I forgot to add :
I usualy take pictures of every car I detail. This way I can send before/after pictures to customers that provide me their email address. They can see the difference I made on their car and hopefully foward the pictures to other people.

One more thing. In real word (at least here), most of the time people want their car cleaned inside/out and waxed. But rarely they are asking me for correction. As long as the car shines...

I didn't even noticed double spacing between headlight polishing...

Yeah, that's the reason, I had a phone number there, but it is my private number, my cellphone as I am still in college (last year) and wanted to have a side business when I am bored lol.

Wow that's improvement, I usually get around 6-10 cars a years (during summer). At first I was getting 2-3 step correction, but after (returning customers) they want only 1-step correction as they car still holding well after I did major correction.
I was thinking of adding full interior clean up and exterior wash and wax, but not sure how much to charge for that.

Thank you for suggestions guys, appreciate it

I began when I was 20, now I am 27. I only work on car during week-end as I am a full time accounting assistant on week days.

I personaly hate to have a fixed rate to clean cars as none of them are in the same condition. I prefer to see the car before. This way I can evaluate how much time I believe I will need to do the job.

What would be the average price for a full wash and wax and full interior cleaning, leather cleaning? Around $100 or a bit less?

                          Re: Need some Website Feedback

Usualy somewhere around 100-150$ depending on size/condition/kind of car.
I include a wash (body, jambs, rims, tires, wells), wax, vacuum, glass cleaning, interior cleaning, vinyl dressing, tires and wells dressing. If I need to shampoo the carpet, polish exhaust tip or remove scratches, it's all extra.
I tried to do higher end detail work, but my customers didn't seem to care. So I am giving them what they want. But if they ever ask for a 1 step or 2 step polishing it's no problem either. I just chat with the customers and give them the best I can for what they want to pay or want done.

The following is just ballpark/averages and every car is different and can vary.

                            $135-$150 for a small car.

                            $200 - $$250 for small SUVs.

$250 - $300 at the minimum for a big truck, like a Sierra or F-250. I would include claying as well.

                            $100 is way too low.

There are times where I charge $120 for a wash/tire dressing & interior spruce up for a F-250 or F-350. These usually take 2-3 hrs.

You want to add wash/clay/sealant & interior packages to your services as I rarely do corrections as nobody cares around here and there is money to be made in this biz outside of "correction work".

So I guess my correction package prices are too low? They don't include interior plastic dress up (just vacuuming)
