  • Trying to help old boss get new "system"

My ex-boss has a system that he has been using virtully unchanged for years & I'm trying to help him "modernize" so to speak.

He uses a GEM orbital (I have his employee convinced to buy a PC though) with terry pads exclusively. His steps are:

    1) Strata 1000 compound

    2) Megs Cleaner wax (consumer)

    3) Megs Cleaner wax (consumer)

    4) #3 (or #7) allow 15+ minutes to "cure & fill swirls etc" (He used to let it setup for over an hour)

    5) Sealant (used to be #16, then #26 yellow, now PRO carnuaba)

I (and others) have tried to tell him compounding is NOT needed and I'm trying to sway him toward this 'system' and away from the GEM toward the PC (he is DEATH on rotaries, so that IS NOT an option)

    1) DACP

    2) #82

    3) #3 or #7 or #80/81

    4) Sealant ...I'm thinking #16/#20/NXT

He markets this as his "Ultra Cote" and give a 1 yr guarantee (6 month reseal required) I'm trying to make his life a bit easier, put out a comparable or better finish with comperable/better durability...

    Suggestions welcome

Well, I would suggest doing one car with your process and show him the difference. It's going to be what speaks world about it more than any sales pitch. See the extreme makeover I did on this lexus nyah.

I detailed it for my Dad so we could sell it. He's had his fair hand in car detailing for years and his response when he saw it was simply put "damn".

Better yet, do your ex-boss's ( ) car if he will let you, that way he will be forced to look at it each day.
          Later,
          Ricky
