  • Hyper dressing - is it a do all?

Adding to the list of stuff I am going to order on my annual pre-spring order I am thinking on some Hyper-Dressing.

Is this something that will replace my NXT Tech Protectant and provide similar results or am I better off with the NXT?

I am looking at using it under the hood (thats a big reason for getting it), wheel wells, on the dash/interior and on my bed cover. It seems all that have HD like it and I just want to make sure I am using it the way it was intended.

I still have and will use #38 on the outside trim gotta love that stuff!

I think HD can be a great all in one product. I wasn't to fond of the NXT protectant.

My only hesitation with using HD is the durability for exteriors and UV protection. HD seems to wash away in rain alot easier than All Season Dressing. If durability isn't a factor then go for it. You mentioned #38 so that shouldn't be a problem. My weekends are usually booked so I have little time to detail my own stuff. I use ASD since I can go about 2 weeks before reapplying.

For clients cars I'm hesitant to use HD for the same reasons. I don't want the stuff to wash off with the first rain storm and streak everywhere.

I would really like to see the HD with the different ratios. I use the low gloss cause HD does get real shiny at the 1:1 ratio and I have only one HD bottle. If I had more bottles I'd have all the ratios.

Interior and under hood HD can't be beat. HD lasts a good while on the dash. Doors are a pain when it rains and the door gets wet and spotty.

Sounds like you almost need a combo of both ASD and HD to cover everything.

Thanks for the good info scrub. Have you tried ASD on interiors? Sounds like strictly a exterior product from the product description.

          Hey Teak,

I would definitely not want to use ASD on interior surfaces, it's far too oily and may have too much gloss. HD is a good choice, but like scrub has pointed out, it lacks UV protection. 303 makes a good interior protectant with great UV protection. I know it's not a Meguiar's product, but UV protection is essential.

I think this is a nice thing about Hyper Dressing. When I first used the product I missed a few spots on my dash. Well when the HD dried I could very easily tell what spots I missed. The HD wouldn't spread to cover but I could definetly see a line where the product ended. Its like some sort of shell coating. That really sold me on this product as it does leave a nice coating but not greasy or wet. Minimal dust attraction.

                Hey,

Meguiar's Hyper Dressing is a very versatile product. It can be diluted to match its intended use or the owners personal preference. I quite like using HD, but I also use other dressings as well.

For interiors, I mostly use Meguiar's #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner. It protects very well against ultraviolet rays. I also use Meguiar's Silicone Free Dressing for its more satin sheen.

                Cheers!

I use HD almost exclusively on tires and wells.
