Protect your pictures!!

This gets really annoying after awhile. There must be hundreds of pictures of work I did on other company sites! Here is the latest I just had emailed to me.

This speak volumes about the character of the the thief in question.

Many of you will recognize the picture from the Lamborghini event we detailed for a few years ago.

Joe, I couldn't agree with you more....for this reason all of my detailing photos get Watermarked

Its funny how some forums will not allow this because they think you are trying to advertise your services. But there is nothing more annoying than putting all that hard work into one of these details that us professionals provide, then to document it and spend the time photographing it using your "Eagle eye". Then take the time to post it on a forum to show others what type of work can be accomplished and share with the world our techniques, only to have your photo's splashed or copied and used for their own selfish reasons.

At the bottom of my website I state the following.......

All photos contained in this website are actual Innovative Detailing Customers vehicles and not stock photos.


Those guys don't mention nothing at the bottom of their website, nor do the hundreds of companies that copy our photos because they do not have the vehicle gallery that you or I and many others have. This is years and years of our hard work, and nobody but the rightful owner has the right to copy, post or use it without permission.

I agree with Innovative Detailing, it your hard & hand work - there are far too many forums & detailing - asked me to remove my water mark but

What is really sad are those detailing site's that do not allow the use of water marks on photos, or those that require a watermark that in no way identifies the detailer who did all the hard work. Thieves are always going to be taking the easy way out. However you would think that folks who own/run detailing sites would understand the reasons why a detailer would want to protect their work.

I like how their website has Copyright 2010 Cars Inc. at the bottom. Basically saying we can steal photos and claim it as our own, but you're not allowed to steal our photos. Amazing.

That's so funny. I did the exact same thing as soon as I read Joe's post. I was so mad I felt I just had to do something. I never thought it would actually work, but apparently the pictures have been removed.

Half that guy's photos don't even load and he had Google ads at the bottom on his page. I can't imagine anyone taking his work seriously.

Yep, seems like the other guy changed the photos. Just wonder who's photo's he using now.

Aside from the illegal reproduction of copyrighted materials – any detail website with stock images is classified as sketchy in my book. Sorry this happened to you, Joe.

Like the others, I now watermark all my photos through an Adobe Photoshop batch before posting online. Keeps the temptation away from less intelligent people and secures my material.
