So you're suggesting i use an adjective such as "Premium" or "Priority"

How about "Matt's Superior Detailing" - or something like that. Does that sound better than "Matt's Custom Detailing"?

How about "Custom Detailing by Majeika"

Although your last name is a bit hard to pronounce, I feel like it fits the above suggestion. The foreignness of your last name almost adds to the premium/lavishness of saying "by whoever"

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

I like that a lot! Definitely adding it to my list of strong possibilities.

          Thanks for the feedback!

Been thinking about it for a couple of days and I'm taking a turn in another direction.

What do you think of "Skyline Auto Detailing"?

It doesn't make sense to me. Is East Greenwich, RI known for its skyline?
Where are you coming from on this. It's certainly not offensive, but I don't get the connection.

                Bill -
When I thought of the name, I imagined a reflected nighttime cityscape off the hood of a freshly waxed black car - "Skyline Auto Detailing - preparing you for a night on the town"
Unrelated to my location. Just an idea...

I get where you are coming from.

Remember back a bit when I asked you who your target market was? :-) If you're a younger guy and you are targeting the 18-30 year olds who like to cruise the name may work. However, I find that this crowd tends to detail their own cars. It's really not that easy picking a name is it :-). p.s. I'm a Marketing grad, so I'm going to be a little tougher on you.

So again, I have to ask who is your target market? Everyone, isn't a choice . Deciding this can be tougher than picking a name. Once you do though, the name will come more naturally.

I personally like Detailing by Majeika. It gives you flexibility, it adds that personal touch and your last name is pretty cool. I'd lose the custom part.

I'm aiming at people 30-50-year-olds who either have cars that they'd like to look nicer / restored, or have a newer car that they'd like to keep nice (like the day they bought it).

I actually like Detailing by Majeika. I just thought of that "idea" yesterday and I couldn't get it out of my head. Given what you said about target markets, though, it seems like an inappropriate name. I understand what you mean.

                      Re: Help deciding company name

My original poll seems kind of irrelevant at this point. Should I start a new one?

Still sitting on "Detailing by Majeika". Looking at how it looks on paper, on a business card, and on a website.
