I'm wondering about how you package certain services. For example, do you vacuum trunks as part of an interior detail, or is that a separate (extra cost) service? Also along those lines, if someone wants a wash and wax, do you also clay the car and/or remove tar as part of the wash and wax, or is that a stand alone (extra cost) service?

I never just wash and wax a vechile. I always clay so that way any wax or paint sealant I apply will actually bond to the paint, waxing a contaminated surface also makes application/removal a pain as well.
If the tar is fairly easy to remove during the wash process then i will remove it. If its really bad then I will at least improve the area and let the owner know that its a seperate task of its own.
Usually Meguiars Body Solvent can totally remove the tar or at least make a huge improvement.Nick

Thanks for the reply. I too prefer to clay a vehicle before waxing, but I was just curious to know if others price that in with an average wash and wax or exterior detail, or if it's normally considered an extra charge.
BTW- I use almost 100% Meguiars Detailer line products, but I was reading that some guys weren't getting great results with Body Solvent, and I read good things about Stoners Tarminator, so I bought a can. VERY good stuff! I wish I'd have had it a couple of weeks ago. I had a truck that I fought with for way too long with Gunk Bug & Tar Remover.
